There’s just something nostalgic about magnolia trees. Maybe it’s my southern upbringing, but I can’t resist a good magnolia leaf decor item.
Magnolia leaves are another ‘year round’ decoration. Ours hangs inside a tobacco basket (perhaps another hint of southern nostalgia) on the custom barn door outside of my office.
The instructions for this wreath are very similar to the DIY Cotton Stem Wreath.

INSTRUCTIONS
{ 1 }
Lay wreath on a flat work surface with plenty of space. Plug in your hot glue gun so that it can warm up while you work.
◆
{ 2 }
If you are using a Magnolia leaf garland, begin by attaching the end of the garland somewhere between the middle and outer edge of the grapevine wreath with floral wire. Wrap the floral wire around the center/main stem of the garland and secure it around a cluster of the grapevine stems in the wreath.
If you are using Magnolia stems, you will simply stick the stem into the grapevine wreath (between the grapevine stems). Depending on what type of stems you buy, you may have you use your wire snippers to trim the excess stem off so that it fits in the wreath.
◆
{ 3 }
With the garland, work your way around the entire wreath, affixing the garland to the grapevine stems with floral wire as you make your way around the wreath.
If you are using stems, continue to place the stems in the wreath until you have worked your way around the entire wreath.
◆
{ 4 }
Now, you will adjust the leaves until your wreath looks full, or to your own visual liking.
◆
{ 5 }
When you’ve adjusted your wreath to completion, you will secure the stems and leaves in place with your hot glue gun. Work your way around the wreath with the glue gun, applying the hot glue sporadically where the garland or stems are attached to the grapevine wreath. If you’ve manually adjusted or spread the stems, glue them together and/or to the wreath as needed.
◆
{ 6 }
Let the glue dry.
